Nah, don't stick together. Now that the Dems are self destructing over Obama care it's a good time for idiots like McConnell to talk about punching "Tea Party" people in the nose. What an idiot. I don't think they will stick together. The establishment types feel their death grip on the party slipping as the young guns emerge. Unless and until these old farts are sent into retirement the party will simply be Dem Lite. The young guns would be smart, as they've been thus far, and not engage in fighting with the establishment types. They need to just focus on what they believe is the right thing to do. Let the old farts rush to the microphones to name-call, it shows them for what they are. Arizona - please, I beg you, retire John McCain for the sake of the country! Nevada - please, I beg you, retire Harry Reid for the sake of the country. And ever other state with septuagenarian politicians - please retire them since they haven't the decency to do it gracefully on their own. That is not to say their aren't plenty of younger pols who are idiots, corrupt, self-serving, dishonest and incompetent. But they haven't gotten the "powe" disease to the extent the old timers, the long timers have. Let no one stay in congress long enough to contract that disease and the country would be a better place. Just

Well, Uncle Harry doesn't have to run again until 2016 and according to an article I have read, he intends to do just that. Of course, he says that now, but hopefully the senate will look very different in 2016!!!
I think the old guard and the new guard should have lots of meetings and find a way to get along because they are more powerful as one body then as many bodies in the same chambers. But, a Mitch McConnell is soooooo stuck on himself, that I agree that this will probably never happen. They don't, by the way, have to walk lockstep, but they shouldn't show such public disagreements and should hash everything out in private and then come out together, compromised.
P.S. I think this would 'scare the hell' out of the dems!

I think this would 'scare the hell' out of the dems! You said something so profound that most pols will never do it - don't squabble in public. I don't expect or "want" either party to walk in lock step. I don't believe that benefits anyone unless they all really think that way and aren't just playing politics. But you can disagree without namecalling and running to the press to express your displeasure.

......running to the press.....this is especially true of mitch mcconnell. There are plenty of rooms to meet in private. They should try it sometime. What a plan to take down the dems.......showing solidarity.
