I would imagine Christie is thinking the same thing. Christie has a big enough problem with conservatives without adding John McCain "RINO" to his list of admirers. For someone who is perceived as the front runner for the GOP in 2016 there are remarkably few big name Republicans rushing to his defense. McCain doesn't count. He's like Schumer and Bill Clinton on the left - a media addict who never saw a micraphone he could pass by.

I don't think Chris Christie needs McCain. He's tough enough, and smart enough to take care of himself. He was a very tough States Attorney for NJ and I heard he never lost a case. If anyone knows how to set up a defense it's Chris Christie. As long as, and many have made this point, he doesn't lie.
He proved to me how well he can handle a crisis with his very smart, IMO, press conference. Still not a big fan but I thought he handled the mess as well as could be done given the massive feeding frenzy the MSM goes into when they have a prominent Republican to skewer.Christie schools Obama on how to handle a crisis by Joseph Curl A note to all those crisis management PR firms lining K Street: The next time you have a client with a big problem, play ‘em New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's “Bridgegate” press conference. The lumpy lawmaker from Livingston put on a textbook exhibition Thursday of just how to handle a dilemma — and made a fool of President Obama, mired in scandal for at least the last 18 months. First, the rotund rock star strode into a city hall room packed with reporters right on time (a small thing, but a big thing, too). Then, in the first sentence out of his mouth, he said this word: “Apologize.” In his second, he said the same word — twice. (In all, he would say “apologize” or “apology” 28 times). “I’ve come out here today to apologize to the people of New Jersey. I apologize to the people of Fort Lee and I apologize to the members of the state Legislature,” he said.Next, he took full responsibility for what had happened in the so-called Bridgegate, when a N.J. bridge was all but shut down in what some characterized as political payback. “Ultimately, I am responsible for what happens under my watch — the good and the bad. And when mistakes are made, then I have to own up to them and take the action that I believe is necessary in order to remediate them,” the governor said. That led to the next textbook action: Accountability. Heads rolled. Mr. Christie announced that he had canned a senior aide and his top campaign adviser. Gone, without even listening to their version of the story. more: www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jan/12/curl-chris-christies-handling-of-bridgegate-school/#ixzz2qH1x5Sv6 Follow us: @washtimes on Twitter Note to all reporters: we know that Chris Christie is fat. The "lumpy" and "rotund" adjectives are not only not necessary - they are a form of bigotry. And I don't like that. But if that's necessary then let's have some fairness and mention just as often that Hillary is overweight and has an ass the size of a Clydesdale. As does FLOTUS. (In all fairness to FLOTUS the size of the derriere in AA women is often genetic. Or so I'm told.)

John McCain weighing in on Christie's news conference to me is not a plus. The dems, however, aren't going to let this go. If Hillary is presented anywhere with anyone speaking to the size of her butt, they will be called misogynist which will be the new word to replace racist. As for Michele's butt, that's HIS problem, not mine.
