Trump's tone has softened some toward Ryan. He has said he does want him to chair the convention. I believe Trump holds the cards here...Ryan might have been speaking with not only those who call themselves the party elite (a name which doesn't fit at all) but Mitt Romney. I hope that's not true, but highly possible.

Trump is quashing the so-called elites and they hate it....he holds the Trump card.
